I have already talk about the Murut history, how they live their lives, about their marriages and the death ritual. Now I will tell about the Murut dances and Murutic languages.

1. Magunatip (Bamboo dance)
Magunatip, more well-known as “Bamboo Dance”, is considered as one of the most popular Murut traditional dances. The name “Magunatip” is derived from the word “apit”, which means “to press between two surfaces.” or "fire". In the dance, dancers need good timing and be fast to put their feet between the clapping bamboo poles, without being trapped. It hurt so bad. I've try it so yeah it's like my feet being hit by the door. Just try it by yourself then you know what I meant.
In the past, Magunatip was a warrior dance to welcome home the return of Murut headhunters. Today bamboo dance is commonly performed in cultural functions and celebrations for entertainment purposes, special event or weddings.
2.Lansaran (Kind of similar to the trampoline)
Lansaran dance is a dance that was popular in the Murut. Normally, this dance is done in typical floor size of approximately 81 square feet. Special floor location is in the middle of the long house made of logs use. Logs installed in layers in particular that bounces like a "spring". In this dance there is a group of male and female dancers. Women will wear traditional costumes and ornaments black beads colorful. For men, they would wear a hat and feathered bird costumes.
In this dance, the dancers will be in a circle while bouncing on the lansaran, accompanied by a set of logs on the bottom floor lansaran. The dancer then will jump up to reach "kinkilat" which is being put at the top of the ceiling and shouted, dashing mark. The ending of this Lansaran dance is a exchanged poem mark strengthen ties of friendship between them. In the past, this dance was done to welcome the heroes who have achieved victory after the fight or war.

3.Mansayau
Mansayau dance was performed by the Murut normally at the weddings, days of public holidays Murut like the Rice Harvest Festival or "Kalimaran". This dance will be accompanied by 9 gong, a drum and a set bakakung or kulintangan. Through this dance, dance the modes are not limited to one form only and can be danced by a pair of dancers (men and women). For the clothing, the male dancers wear clothes called bangkad and abag while women's clothes called linambongan,
Murutic Languages
Based on studies conducted by Spitzack (1984) in Sabah, actually Murutic language consist of twelve languages, those are Gana, Keningau (dialect Apin-Apin Kuijau, Dusun-Murut, Ambual, Nabai), Timugon, Beaufort, Bookan ( Bookan and Tangara dialect), Paluan (Paluan and Pandawan dialect), Sumambu / Tagal (Pensiangan, Salalir, Rundum, Tomani and Maligan), Kolod, Selungai, Sembakung, Kalabakan and Serudung Murut Sumambu / Tagal Murutic classified as the largest language family in 1980 with the number speakers 13,000-14,000 people.
